I think it’s safe to say summer is officially here—and if the crowded parks weren’t a giveaway, the sunlit days stretching their final hour were probably a welcome stay. Chances are, you’ve already found yourself sinking into a patio chair, breathing in the fresh scent of grass and settling into the season, hopefully with a camera in hand.
What better way to celebrate the return of golden light than through the eyes of our community artists? This month’s Photo Contest brought in a wave of stunning submissions that perfectly captured the spirit of May, from cherry blossom beauties to cowboys, travel, and wildlife wonders. It’s an exciting time to get out there and shoot, and we’re proud to showcase this Month’s best talent and our May Photo Contest Winners.

There’s something timeless about a mother’s gaze – and in Hollie’s winning photo, it’s the striking blue eyes of a fox that hold you still. Captured just as she returns to her den, the quiet connection between her and her two kits feels intimate, almost sacred. “A sweet moment shared,” as Hollie puts it- one that speaks to the wild tenderness of motherhood. It’s a gentle reminder that even in nature, love is often subtly silent.

Jordan Weiss
Looks like his travels have paid off! Jordan Weiss isn’t a stranger to an Honourable Mention Win. This is his third Honourable Mention win this year! Jordan’s photo is a vivid colour palette of calm resting boats on the lake, their reflections dancing in quiet harmony. Taken in Nepal after his trek to Annapurna Base Camp, the scene captures a pause between adventure and serenity. “Waiting to take people to the island with the Tal Barahi Temple,” he notes—yet the photo itself feels like a destination. It’s a striking composition that invites you to linger, breathe, and drift.
Victoria Goodbrand
Victoria’s photo feels like a quiet breath of spring – gentle light, golden grass, and a newborn calf nestled into the season’s stillness. There’s a softness to it all, both in colour and feeling, like the world holding its breath around new life. “Sun glinting off a new spring calf in crux of calving season,” she shares – and in that moment, everything slows. A tender capture of beginnings, both fleeting and full of promise.
