We're Moving! - Everything you need to know about our new flagship store!

McBain is Moving from 107th Avenue to Mayfield Square in Edmonton!

The time has finally come. Our venerable flagship location on 107 Avenue in Edmonton has served many thousands of people over the past four decades, providing us with a space for customers and staff to build lasting relationships as we guide people in their photographic and videographic journeys. But the time has come to move this location, as we’ve outgrown it and our customers’ needs have changed.

So, this summer you will finally get a chance to see how McBain is ready to take on the future of imaging at our new flagship location on Mayfield Road. This modern space will not only be a marvelous playground to explore new photo and video equipment but be keenly focused on building community with facilities to help you learn and create. It will also embrace our heritage in photography as film continues to play a large role in the current age of imaging.

But most importantly, the relationships you’ve already built with the staff at our present flagship will still be there. Those relationships are what keep us going. And for anyone that hasn’t yet had a chance to stop by and see what we’re all about, perhaps you could join us in our new space, and see what we can really do.

Thank you,

Rene Rodrigue | McBain General Manager

Flagship Store Move FAQ

What is the last day the 107 Avenue location will be open? Our last day of operations at 107 Avenue will be Friday, May 17.

When are you opening the new Mayfield location? Barring any unforeseen difficulties, our new flagship’s soft opening will be in mid-June (more on that to come).

That’s a long time in between. What gives? We realize this means there will be approximately four weeks in which you will not be able to shop at our flagship location. We apologize for the inconvenience. However, the good news is we have three other locations in the Edmonton area, all of whom would be more than happy to see you.

Where can I pick up my 107 Avenue orders? For any customer who has photofinishing, back orders, special orders or holds to pick up at our 107 Avenue location, staff will be contacting you in the week before closure to find out what alternate location you'd like to pick your order up from.
Will this affect your repair services? Not at all! While we move locations, repairs will still take six to twelve weeks for completion, unless the repair depots we deal with need special parts, which could cause delays outside of our control.

Will you still be performing sensor cleanings? Our Southgate, Red Deer and Lethbridge locations will all be equipped to handle sensor cleaning for customers.

Will you still be performing lens-calibrations? Unfortunately, no. Our remaining locations do not have the space or equipment to perform lens calibrations.

Will you still be processing film during the move? What about your other PhotoLab services? With the aid of a third-party partner, we will still be offering all lab services, especially regarding processing, printing, and scanning film. This also includes online orders. However, there may be a delay in fulfilling orders. We will advise you of any delays when you drop off your order or place an order online.

Can I still rent equipment from you during the move? Absolutely! A selection of our most popular cameras and lenses will still be available to rent. Please call your nearest open location to place a booking.

Can I still buy or trade-in used equipment? Yes! Used gear previously stocked at our 107th Avenue store will be distributed to our various Edmonton area locations. Please call your nearest store or chat with us online for item availability. Trade-ins also remain available at all other locations.

My business deals with your B2B department. How will I be placing my orders during the move? Good news! Our B2B staff will continue to work during the move. Unfortunately you will not be able to visit them in person, but if you contact your usual salesperson via their usual email address, or email bizdev@mcbaincamera.com, we’ll be happy to take your orders or provide quotes.

What about my online orders? This move will not affect our online operations at all, and you can still order from our website with confidence. This also includes in-store pickup at our other locations.

If you have any questions about our move not covered here please contact us at feedback@mcbaincamera.com!
